Sainte Maxime

The coastal town of Sainte Maxime, in the gulf of Saint Tropez, is a popular vacation destination thanks to its 300 days of sunshine a year and the shelter from the Mistral and east wind afforded by the Maures Mountains.

The town is a picturesque old fishing port with stunning beaches, such as the Casino beach and La Nartelle. The town centre is lively, with plenty of shops and cafes offering fresh seafood caught by the local fisherman. The promenade is one of the main local attractions, leading to a pier overlooking the gulf of Saint Tropez.

As you would expect, there are plenty of watersports for those seeking an active visit, such as sailing, scuba diving, windsurfing and waterskiing, or you can try your hand at sea fishing. Other activities include cycling and tennis, and there is also an 18-hole golf course in the area.

As far as nightlife goes there is a wide choice of restaurants and nightclubs and during the day you can visit the local museums, art galleries, aquatic park and kids' amusement park.

Saint Tropez is only 13km away or you can travel to the neighbouring villages of Plan de la Tour or Port Grimaud.
